How to Wear a Mask

Recently, the CDC recommended everyone wear a mask when they leave the house.

There are lots of how to videos how to make masks from items at home.  This can be from a variety of fabrics and have both sewn and no sew options depending on your supplies at home.  Click here to see how the CDC recommends making these options.

However; a mask when not worn properly loses its ability to protect us.

Here are some tips for putting on, wearing, and taking off your mask safely.

1) Before putting on your mask, wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap for 20 seconds.

2) Place the mask over your mouth and nose, ensuring that you have complete coverage with no gaps between the mask and your skin.  Place the straps behind your ears.

3) Once the mask is on your face, do not touch, readjust, or move the mask.  If you do touch the mask, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.

4) When you are ready to take off your mask, remove it from behind the ears, without touching the main part of the mask.  Dispose of it appropriately.  Or, if you are using a cloth mask, wash accordingly, as described here

Stafe safe and stay healthy.
