About Kested

Ruthie graduated from Texas A&M University in 1999 and completed the physician assistant program at Baylor College of Medicine in the Houston Medical Center in 2005. Her career began in a rural medical clinic in Cuero, Texas. In 2006, she joined the UNTHSC physician assistant faculty and directed the women’s health academic and clinical curriculum while working in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for 8 years. While there she was promoted to Assistant Professor and inducted into the National Physician Assistant Honor Society Pi Alpha. She continues to guest lecture for the women’s health curriculum.

In 2015, Ruthie joined Eighth Avenue Obstetrics and Gynecology and is active in all areas of women’s health including gynecology from puberty through menopause, counseling contraceptive options, sexually transmitted disease screening and prevention, depression and anxiety issues, prenatal and postpartum care and ever changing roles of mothers.

On her days off, you might find her working out with Camp Gladiator, baking a delicious treat, trying the latest foodie restaurant in Fort Worth with her 2 daughters and her husband or most likely ‘uber’ing her daughters to gymnastics, soccer, basketball, piano, or choir.
